There are 2577 historical and cultural monuments located in the Vladimir region with 397 religious monuments maintained by the church. The total number of historical and cultural monuments registered and preserved by the state is 3589:
— Archeological sites — 758,
— Architectural sites and town planning monuments — 2576,
— Historical monuments — 230,
— Art masterpieces — 25.
380 monuments are listed as being of historical significance (10 of them being on the list of UNESCO World cultural heritage).
2011 monuments are of local significance.
1198 are newly discovered works of historical and cultural value.
The list of historical towns, settlements and sites of historical and architectural value includes:
— 13 towns (Vladimir, Alexandrov, Vjazniki, Gorokhovets, Guz-Khrustalni, Kovrov, Kirzhach, Melenki, Murom, Pokrov, Sudogda, Suzdal, Juriev-Polskoi),
— 3 settlements (Bogolubovo, Mstera, Stavrovo),
— 27 monasteries (24 are in use),
— 41 country estates.
